What is rooting?
Rooting is the process of gaining administrator privilege on the Android Device which gives the opportunity to do much more than the phone can do out of the box. It is just like Jail-breaking in an apple device such as IPhone, IPad, Iwatch etc. and is similar running programs as an Administrator in Windows, or running a command with SUDO in Linux but much more control over the phone whether its wireless tethering, speeding it up with overclocking, or customizing the look of the phone with themes.
You can access the system files, delete them, modify and do whatever you want with it. You can rung apps that require access to certain system settings as well as flash custom ROMs to your phone, which add all sorts of extra features. Instead of Company boot logo even you can set your own picture and a lot more with a rooted phone.
